@@rockwelldelphy5099 Hi bro, the superior protective surface started to break apart.That part is not under full sunlight .on top of that their system of butyl rubber also doesnt hold up in sunlight.i live in a tropical weather environment.Basicly sad but true german and swiss quality is not worth it now.

Typically, this product is overlaid with a cementitious adhesive, like those in the SikaCeram range, or, in instances involving basement walls, it's safeguarded by a protective and drainage layer. So, in essence, as long as the application instructions are strictly followed, you shouldn't encounter any issues with mold development. Hope this clarifies your concern!

Hello and thank you for your question. Both products, SikaSwell® S2™ (the adhesive paste) and SikaSwell® A profile, start swelling upon contact with water. The swelling volume depends on various factors but will reach a maximum after a certain period of time. This can only be observed in a laboratory test; typically, the system is encased in concrete and will not expand to its final volume. However, the swelling 'intention' creates the pressure that seals the joint. Regarding the inquiry about the saturation point for a water bar: Could you please provide more detailed information on this subject?

If installed as per manufacturer specs, is there an option, subject to saturation point, that some water can be let pass through until the system swells and seal the joint? Thanks

Thank you for the questions. The water sprayed on is the Sika® Tooling Agent N that can be used straight away after the application. It is a water-based, solvent-free tooling agent for Sika's elastic sealants and adhesives. The Tooling Agent is designed for smoothening freshly applied Sikaflex sealants. The masking tapes should be removed after the sealant have been applied, or (if the case) smoothed.
